Propecia Review

Propecia is a medication treating hair loss in men that will prevent future loss of hair and stimulate regrowth of the hair that’s already been lost. It is a non-addictive medication that is taken orally daily, and must be prescribed by a doctor. Propecia treats both male pattern baldness and benign prostatic hyperplasia, and has been clinically proven to be effective for men ages 18-41 suffering mild to moderate hair loss.

Propecia is manufactured by a healthcare company called Merck, which was founded in 1851 in Berlin, Germany. The company merged with Schering-Plough in November of 2009. Currently, they are the second largest healthcare company in the world. Responsible for the discovery of vitamin B1, Merck is a company that is driven to “preserving and improving human life.”

How Propecia works

As an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase, Propecia works to reduce DHT, what causes hair loss, in the scalp, thereby preventing future hair loss and stimulating regrowth in problem areas. Those taking Propecia should follow their doctor’s directions exactly as prescribed with a full glass of water daily. It may take as many as three months or longer to see the results of Propecia.

Consumer Thoughts

Some customers are pleased with the results they get while using Propecia, but some feel like the drug is not worth the side effects it can cause. If customers have taken Propecia for a year and have seen no results, the drug will most likely never work for them.

Pros and Cons of Propecia

Propecia can be effective for those who use it, but like many medications, it does not work for everyone. Additionally, for some, it may stop hair loss from occurring, but will not stimulate the regrowth of already lost hair. Those who use Propecia may experience side effects like weight gain, changes in appetite, sexual dysfunctions and hormonal balance problems, some of which can be serious.

Where Can I Buy It?

Propecia is currently only available as a prescription medication, so those interested should speak with a doctor to learn more about the medication and find out if it is suitable for their situation and hair loss problems. Propecia does not work for everyone, and may not be the right solution for everyone experiencing hair loss. Those who take Propecia will need to continue taking the medication on a regular basis in order to continue seeing results.

Verdict – 2 out of 5

Propecia receives a ranking of 2 out of 5, as it usually does the job it is advertised to do, but does not work as effectively – or at all – for everyone who uses it. This medication does come with side effects that can be disruptive to daily life, for men suffering from hair loss and sexual dysfunctions, possible weight gain and hormonal imbalances that can be caused by Propecia. Considering all these side effects I don’t recommend Propecia because their are much options like Provillus.
